Week 5 - Sejahtera as Local Concept of Sustainable Development

Class Overview

For today, Prof Suhaimi told us to visit the IIUM Dar al-Hikmah Library and capture fascinating pictures of the several books, references, and display materials pertaining to the Sejahtera Concept for sustainable development. After that, we must use the books and articles we have read to create three interesting lessons on the Sejahtera concept for sustainable development.

Personal Reflection
This experience helped me reflect on the importance of Sejahtera in daily life. Sustainability is not just about the environment but also about balancing personal well-being, community harmony, and ethical leadership. Observing my classmates' curiosity and teamwork made me realize how collaboration can foster meaningful change, just as these scholars advocated centuries ago.

Application of Learning
The concept of Sejahtera reminds us that development must be holistic. Education, culture, and values are as critical as economic growth. I learned that by integrating Sejahtera into our studies and actions, we can contribute to a sustainable future—one that prioritizes harmony between people, nature, and society.

Conclusion
Our visit was more than a learning activity; it was an eye-opener. Sejahtera offers timeless wisdom for sustainable development. As students, we must embrace these values, ensuring a balanced, meaningful, and sustainable future for generations to come.
