Week 6 - University And Sustainable Development

I went to iium shah mosque and the first thing I noticed when I arrived at the Shah Mosque was how beautifully it blends with nature. The design of the mosque and the campus itself shows IIUM’s commitment to being eco-friendly. Many universities today are focused on reducing their environmental impact, whether it’s through using renewable energy, building green spaces, or making sure their buildings are energy-efficient. IIUM is a great example of a university that tries to make its campus as sustainable as possible.

One of the main roles universities play is educating people about important issues like sustainability. IIUM combines Islamic teachings with modern ideas of sustainability, which gives students a unique perspective on how to live in harmony with nature and society. At IIUM Shah Mosque is not only a beautiful place to pray, but it also stands as a symbol of how IIUM is connecting with the people around it. The university organizes events, workshops, and activities that help students and the community learn how to live more sustainably.

My visit to the IIUM Shah Mosque was a reminder of how universities are making a difference in creating a more sustainable world. By teaching sustainability, conducting research, and engaging with the community, universities can help shape a better future for everyone. As students, we also have a responsibility to learn and contribute to this mission, whether it's through our studies or everyday actions. IIUM’s beautiful campus is just one example of how universities can lead the way in building a sustainable world.
